Single Tooth Implants
An implant is one of the best ways to replace missing teeth or a tooth that can’t be saved.
Dental implants have allowed us to give patients something that can help chew and function like a natural tooth.
Before dental implants, it was very difficult to replace teeth. Neighboring teeth would typically be damaged in order to replace the missing tooth. Or, patients would have to learn to chew with their gums or removable dentures.
Smith Dental Team has extensive training and experience using dental implants to replace single or multiple teeth.

FAQ’s
What is single tooth dental implants and how do they work?
Single tooth dental implants are titanium posts surgically placed into the jawbone to act as a stable replacement root for a missing tooth. A custom dental crown is then attached to the implant, giving you a natural-looking and functional replacement tooth.
Who is a good candidate for a single tooth implant?
Most adults with good overall health and adequate jawbone support are candidates. During your exam, our dentists will assess bone quality and oral health to determine if an implant is right for you.
How long does the dental implant process take from start to finish?
The process typically takes several months. After implant placement, there is a healing period for the implant to fuse with bone (osseointegration). Once healed, a custom crown is attached.
Is getting a dental implant painful?
Our team uses local anesthesia and, if requested, sedation options to make the procedure comfortable. Most patients experience mild soreness afterward, which can be managed with over-the-counter care.
Will my dental insurance cover single tooth implants?
Coverage varies by plan. While some plans cover portions of implant treatment, others may not. Our team will help you verify your benefits and explore options if needed.
